This afternoon we practiced our Assembly even though it isn’t until 20th June…
Understand that putting on an assembly in front of your primary school peers was A Very Big Thing.
Especially if you were one of those personally involved in choosing what to put on.
Understand, therefore, the need to start rehearsing the thing well over a month before the assembly was to receive its one and only public performance.
Understand too that, in the mind of at least one 10-year-old, the assembly was nonetheless just as much of A Very Big Thing as broad beans.
Especially if the latter were likely to come to fruition before the former.
